Welcome to the Finale of the Summer Season of the Literacy Quebec Podcast!
Did you know that 25% of Canadians do not have any books in their home? In this episode we talk about the importance of affordable learning resources like books with our guest Tessa Eisenberg, the National Engagement Coordinator at First Book Canada (FBC). Literacy Quebec's partnership with FBC helps us to donate books to community groups across Quebec. We learn from Tessa about how FBC's works to fulfill their mission to transform the lives of children in need by improving access to educational opportunities and resources. We end our episode with some exciting upcoming events, including the Lob for Literacy Fundraiser for Yamaska Literacy Council the weekend of September 6-7, 2019

Episode 4 (or is it 5?) of Season 2! This special summer episode is a recording of our podcast workshop with Michelle Osbourne from the Quebec City Reading Council this past June. Michelle joined us at our office for a great chat on how to start a podcast using free and simple tools that are accessible to most people. We also had the opportunity to pick Michelle's brain about setting up a communication strategy using social media to share and promote community organisation's work. Pardon the office noise :) We will be back to our regular format in a couple of weeks after this short summer break!
