QCRC and Eastern Quebec Learning Centre Adult Learners Week

Quebec City Reading Council (QCRC) held its annual celebration of adult learners in partnership with Eastern Quebec Learning Centre as part of worldwide movement to raise awareness of the importance of education and adult literacy.

Lip Sync Idol Winner Monica Verweij

For 2016, it was out with the old ‘Karaoke Idol’ and in with the new hip and happenin' ‘Lip Sync Idol’!  Contestants performed to a full house of students and centre staff members, and each contender did their best to win over our panel of judges, including local journalist Rachel Colet of the Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph! In the end, it was Monica Verweij’s riveting rendition of Celine Dion’s All by Myself that captured the winning score – Congratulations Monica!
